    Palace of Benamejí... The Palace of Benamejí (also known as Palace of the Condes de Benamejí or the Condes de Valverde) in the town of Ecija (Seville province), is one of the fundamental works of the civil architecture of the 18th century in Andalusia. It is linked in its origin to the Marquess of Benamejí, and later the counts of Valverde. Its construction defines precisely the particular conception that the Baroque is in lower Andalusia. In 1994 it was declared good of Cultural interest and national monument. Since 1997 is the Municipal Historical Museum of ecija.1 the building was built in the first third of the 18th century by the Marquis of Benamejí. At the beginning of the 19th century, during the French occupation it was converted into barracks. It became more late property of the counts of Valverde and in 1906 it was purchased by the city of Ecija, who gave it to the military traces which occupied him almost throughout the twentieth century. Since 1997 it is the seat of the Municipal.2 Historical Museum the building of great dimensions, has its highlights on the main façade and the magnificent main staircase, both the factory and the ornamental device. Of great importance are also the halt, the carroceras and stables, as well as the patio. The building built in the first third of the 18th century, presented irregular shape. Originally, it was made up of the following units: halt, carroceras, salons, bakery, patios, oratory, tack room, casapuerta, Garden, kitchen, main staircase, stables (with separate entrance) and House of work. This set of stays has been partially affected by the reforms carried out in the 20th century. However, still stressing for your interest facades, the waystation, patio and the main staircase, stables, the oratory and salons as well noble dependencies. The main façade, of great monuments, is made of brick. It is divided into two bodies, with cover in the Center and towers - my - radar on their ends. The lower body, presents corrido socket on which support pillars that also run the following body. This, in turn, is decorated by balconies whose openings are reenmarcados by composite mouldings, moved pediment and upper auctions coming to disrupt the development of the cornice. The main home, located in the Centre of this façade, is great monumental, and brings a touch of variety and ornamental richness. It is structured in two bodies. The first consists of vain trabeated access, flanked by four marble columns (located in different planes) on pedestals, and with curved moldings. The upper part of the body is covered by a moved cornice, which leads to the upper balcony. The second repeat the outline of the former, with some variations. Opening presents at their top mixed arch, with profuse decoration moldings. Crowning all this lies a shield supported by two figures, and Bernuy family. Two torres-miradores are located at the ends of the main facade. Square presented two sections, separated by molding. In the first, show a balcony of characteristics similar to those presented in the rest of the facade, while second ei include blind arches, with spans arches rectangular on each of its sides. All this is topped with polygonal Spire covered with shingles. Access to the property is via the lobby. Behind him, access to the courtyard of the halt, lowered arc made of brick, with remarks in horizontal joint and ornamentation of pendants in starters and key. The courtyard is rectangular and on your right side opens a doorway in stone, which gives access to the stables. These are characterized by rectangular plan with three naves, separated by Tuscan marble columns and arches in brick; cover, for its part, is resolved based on dry vaults. On both sides of the curtain wall are cribs or troughs, decorated in their sockets with pendants. The stables remain the early entrance. On the left side of the patio is the meeting room of the Palace, after which the old garden opens. However, the most outstanding element of patio is located in your main front. Under a richly decorated balconies appears an arc reduced in brick, which gives access to the main staircase. The staircase, magnificent building that responds to the imperial style, consists of two ascending portions, which through a landing, leading to a top single shot, otherwise. The ladder opens with a triple lobed arches, supported by pairs dc columns of marble on pedestals. Space of the staircase is covered with vault for half on pendentives. On the ground, and bl\jo the central arch of the same, opens a door that leads to the main courtyard. On each side of the stairs are several outbuildings, which served for different purposes: bakery, reception room... Among them is the chapel or oratory, which is located on the left. It is small and rectangular plant. Of great importance is also the central courtyard. It has square floor and double arcaded Gallery, with Tuscan columns of marble and cubic as a Cyma body arches are of half a point in the lower deck and plunge in the upper. These bows are made of brick and decorated brackets and pendants in key and Spandrels. The high body is covered by a metal rail. In the center of the courtyard stands a polygonal trace source. Other rooms in the Palace are located around the patio: lounges, dining rooms and bedrooms. They are characterized for being rectangular and own covers pillared with sturdy wooden beams. They include a large living room, immediately to the landing of the staircase. To the left of the set of the main courtyard lies the ancient farmhouse, today very transformed.
