  • I advise you not to miss this tour about 2 hours by car from Porto! Despite the cloudy weather, the view of the vineyards is worth a trip out of town ... There are several wineries (in Portuguese) to visit that also offer tastings for small numbers (about 6-12 euros all inclusive). You can reach by train or of organized tours from the city, but if you hire the car you will be free to travel at will and choose where to stop! I recommend you get there late in the morning, so you can either visit the cellars, which stop photographing. There are also many boat tours of about 1-2 hours that allow a view of the Valley from the river! We didn't make it because it was bad weather, but certainly the view from the river the hills should be a show!

  • Starting from Oporto, you can go easily and quickly by car to this beautiful wine-growing region of Portugal. If you have little time as one day only, the script can include Amarante (stop to see the Cathedral and the bridge), Lamego (uphill walk the stairs and terraces to the Church at the top is mandatory), ruler and Pinion (stop compulsorily on a farm for wine tasting-Quinta da Roeda belonging to Croft vineyard, it's gorgeous!). The Valley is wonderful and almost charming, with breathtaking views to the hills and its numerous terraces of vineyards, waterfalls, stone and whitewashed chapels solitary, Orange and cherry blossoms (if you're there in the spring), fences of olive trees bordering the vineyards and the Douro River snaking down there.

  • Pretty landscapes to discover by taking the train from pinhao up to pocinho. What caveats: hard to take pictures in the train (window tag or sales); arrival at pocinho anything to do and discover long wait... Choose a very sunny day to have the most beautiful photos if cloudy or gray not time top... Average opinion
