Catedral de Cuenca, Cuenca

Categories: Sacred & Religious Sites, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
3.8/5 based on 950+ reviews on the web
The specific Gothic architecture of the 12th-century Catedral de Cuenca may seem a little out of place in Castile. Inspired by Richard the Lionheart’s sister, Eleanor Plantagenet, who married Castilian King Alfonso VIII, it’s Anglo-Norman in style. The 20th-century facade may lead you to think that the cathedral is smaller than it really is. On the inside, you’ll find lots of light and enormous dimensions. Be sure to get the audio guide. Catedral de Cuenca is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our custom trip planner, Cuenca Edition.
