Catedral de Cuenca, Cuenca
(3.8/5 based on 1,000+ reviews on the web)
The specific Gothic architecture of the 12th-century Catedral de Cuenca may seem a little out of place in Castile. Inspired by Richard the Lionheart’s sister, Eleanor Plantagenet, who married Castilian King Alfonso VIII, it’s Anglo-Norman in style. The 20th-century facade may lead you to think that the cathedral is smaller than it really is. On the inside, you’ll find lots of light and enormous dimensions. Be sure to get the audio guide. Catedral de Cuenca is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our custom trip planner, Cuenca Edition.

  • Need longer than expected about 2 hours with museum, Walk outside if you see a back door open the view is stunning,
  • Great exhibition that commemorates the anniversary of Don Quixote, the Foundation of the Museum of abstract art in Cuenca, and through which the artist Chinese Ai Wei Wei has their way through prison experience. For this you have restored and open spaces new inside the Cathedral. All explained very agreeably by the Guide. Magnificent!

  • Striking out due to its differences with the rest of cathedrals that exist in Spain. Inside I can not comment because I think it is a glut, which charge 8 euros to enter
