Lanzarote Aquarium, Costa Teguise

(2.5/5 based on 800+ reviews on the web)
Lanzarote Aquarium, the biggest aquarium in the Canary Islands, contains 33 tanks and hundreds of species. Look for species local to the islands, like the tiger fish. Check out the sharks from the underwater tunnel, although the huge ray may steal the show. Stroke the starfish and sea cucumbers. After seeing their display of garbage collected from the beaches of Lanzarote, you be inclined to pick up any trash you find on the sand. If you’re interested in diving with sharks, contact them about the advanced diving course in their tanks. Make Lanzarote Aquarium a centerpiece of your Lanzarote vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Lanzarote vacation trip planner.

  • There is not too much to see here but just worth a visit. There are some touch pools with sea cucumbers and star fish. It is not that big. Probably good value at 8 Euros but not really 14.  more »
  • Very small, as mentioned in previous reviews. Walked through in 30 minutes. In need of a revamp, interesting enough exhibits (bar one very sad looking turtle in a very small tank) but very tired decor...  more »

  • At first, the experience feels a bit underwhelming to be honest. But there's definitely more to see than what you first expect. It's a lot bigger than it looks, since it's all underground, and there's some really interesting animals and stories. During my visit, I wasn't 100% comfortable with one of the habitats, but the staff explained the reason it was that way. Would recommend to families with children.
  • Nice to walk around particularly if you have children, is a little bit short for the price.
  • Quite small and not much to see. This is 2 hours max. Not a very good value adults are 14 euros each and exhibits are rather sparsely populated.
  • Not too great, 14 euros seems quite expensive for what it is, just hope they do use the money for turtle protection. Could do with cleaning aquarium walls a little bit more often, full of paw prints. At least not too crowded.
  • Not a bad aquarium, but not very big. Faulty air con meant it was pretty uncomfortable.
