Lanzarote Aquarium, Costa Teguise

2.7
#2 of 6 in Parks in Costa Teguise
Lanzarote Aquarium, the biggest aquarium in the Canary Islands, contains 33 tanks and hundreds of species. Look for species local to the islands, like the tiger fish. Check out the sharks from the underwater tunnel, although the huge ray may steal the show. Stroke the starfish and sea cucumbers. After seeing their display of garbage collected from the beaches of Lanzarote, you be inclined to pick up any trash you find on the sand. If you’re interested in diving with sharks, contact them about the advanced diving course in their tanks. • It does not look much from the outside, so a nice surprise when you go in, the top part is a little shop, the aquarium is downstairs. A good selection of fish, freshwater, and saltwater, well worth a ...  more »
  • Visited on a cloudy day as our hotel was only 5 mins away. Compared to UK sealife centres yes it's small however you do get to see some bigger more rare fish than you would normally. In particular the...  more »
  • Good activity to pass the time and if you don't have nothing better to do. The €14 input are not justified at all for what is the establishment itself. However, if some of that money is earmarked for the conservation of the environment, you can have a pass.

  • Really lovely aquarium, well maintained. Kids loved it here. Really enjoyed the places you could just sit looking into the large tank... Very therapeutic!
  • Our two kids (7 and 4), the wife and I enjoyed our time here. There was quite a lot to see and the massive fan-tailed ray was awesome. Was surprised that during our hour or so there we only saw one member of staff...and she was manning the front desk. There was no-one at any of the tanks, not even at the obligatory "touch and feel" tanks. Had a good time though.
  • Loved the aquarium. Some fabulous sea creatures inside, with a wealth of knowledge and the giant stingray is surely the star of the show. It was €37 for 2 adults and a 5 year old - don't be put off as it is a little small and has only 3 small zones. It is well worth the entry fee and it's something great to do if the sunshine has deserted you or even if you want to get the kids out of the midday sun.
  • Starts off a litttle dissapointing but actually have some decent tanks and the large tank with a huge ray and nurse shark is great to sit and watch. The uninterested could wander through it in 20min but if you are keenly interested or even wander back for a second pass you can while away at least an hour (90min for us with a 7 year old). Perhaps a tad expensive but a good.
  • Yes it is quite small, yes it is quite expensive for what you see, but we went anyway and weren't disappointed. Taking our time to see everything takes about an hour. Good to get out of the midday sun.
