Categories: Golf Courses, Outdoor Activities
La Alcaidesa is a residential and commercial seaside resort near Sotogrande, Spain (within the municipalities of La Línea de la Concepción and San Roque), in the Andalusian province of Cádiz. The resort was developed pursuant to a joint venture agreement between Costain Group PLC (a British company) and Banesto.Construction originally started in the 1990s. La Alcaidesa Inmobiliaria (the Costain/Banesto joint venture company) owns the land and there is an Architectural Control Committee who insisted that all the new building would conform to a common style. Various developers have completed, and are in the process of completing, the building developments. Many buildings are still under construction. The golf courses, being two 18 hole courses, is said to include the only links course in Spain. There are various independent communities within La Alcaidesa, such as La Corona, a complex of modern townhouses. The village contains a couple of hotels. One exclusively serves the German market (Aldiana). The beach is linked to the beach in La Línea therefore it is possible to see Gibraltar (a British overseas territory).La Alcaidesa is only partially developed in accordance with its development plan. A small retail unit selling all essentials opened in March 2011 and the a pharmacy is on duty as well. A further mall has been constructed, but units remain vacant (as at August 2013).Currently there is only one restaurant in the village - Bio Pizza, though there is a bar and restaurant on the beach in the summer months. Bio Pizza, is located in the main square and offers both indoor and outdoor seating. There are also two bars (also in the main square), The Ivy Wine Bar and Sol Mart, a mini-market. D"blanco, the beach bar, has seating inside and out and is open throughout the day and evening and serves a mixture of meat and fish dishes.Take a look at our San Roque trip itinerary planner to schedule your visit to Alcaidesa and learn about what else to see and do during your holiday.

Ellie MartínezA disastrous deal. My husband and I went out from the beach. It is the first time that we've gone to this place. We wanted to eat and hang out. We come from a holiday in los Lances in Tarifa and always looking for places to beach. Suddenly comes to me a used "do Emilia?... or something". Bajita, queue down older woman, Brown... with a tone and a dismal education and asked me if I was in the hotel. I told him that no and without giving me time to say that it was lost and searching for or exploring the place, expetó us that we were in "onsite and we would leave". I told him that he did not and tried to apologize and she increasingly with less education showed us that we pardon the road and we would leave. After treat us so bad and know that we were looking for where eat offers us the hotel restaurant... up poorly educated cortita of lights. NOT WHAT I RECOMMEND. A PLACE THAT HIRES THAT KIND OF PEOPLE, POSINLEMENTE RACIST BECAUSE MY HUSBAND IS CUBAN BLACK RAZO, NOT WORTH BEING MONEY. Especially when there are other neighboring and much better treatment, better staff and facilities.show original
Andres dominguezI confirm everything said by my wife Ellie Martínez in the previous comment. That employee has been detestable treatment, treating us without the most minimal education. I am a prestigious chef of cuisine from the best hotels and cooking schools. I've been Chief of Cicin of the Hotel Jagua in Cienfuegos, Cuba, and gave no credit to such behaviour in an employee of a hotel. She is low, black hair in a kite to the neck, face and very unpleasant character Keita. I am very familiar with this type of personnel, it is quite possible to be very "ball" with policymakers and more regular clients so that they speak well of it. But the reality that the rest is the fatal because anyone who does not serve for the road to its rise depressed them.show original
