Parque Natural de Corralejo, Corralejo

4.8
#1 of 529 in Wildlife in Spain
On a visit to Parque Natural de Corralejo, a protected area of sandy dunes with surprising wildlife, hike through a desert-like environment to the beach. Blue posts that ribbon through the park mark the main pathway. It leads you over 3 km (2 mi) to the Riu Hotels, which house visitors to the park and nearby beach. Stray from this path to climb the sands, keeping your eyes open for geckos and sand snails crawling along. Enjoy the view from the top of the dunes then descend to the beach on the other side. You'll find surfers, kite surfers, and a few bars. Bring plenty of water and sunscreen as there are no natural shaded areas. Our Corralejo trip maker app makes visiting Parque Natural de Corralejo and other Corralejo attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

Beautiful place to visit. Essential. Impressive contrast between the beach, the sea and the interior, more akin to the desert of the Sahara than to a place on the Spanish coast.

It is a marvel of landscape... I loved the contrast of the white dunes with the turquoise sea. Each corner is spectacular, I recommend it 100%

  • We started with good intentions, but it was a longer walk than we anticipated. Take a bottle of water with you and be prepared for along walk back either along the beach or the coast road. We did the beach and stumbled across the nudist beach 😮 just so you know not everyone is naked. They have what I would discribe as man made bird nest that a lot af the naked people were in so you could if you wanted to walk with children.
  • Beautiful scenery. Lovely to sit for a few hours
  • Mainly hot, sunny and sandy. Quite a place to visit if you've never been to a desert-esque environment. Also pretty close to the beach and sea if you don't stray too far. Bit of cloud cover now and then at time of writing, but sun glasses and a hat recommend. Though it is windy so keep that in mind!! Good to come visit then relax by the sea. Car parking is basically find a place to pull off on the sides of the road, watch out as traffic does slow down / suddenly stop as it is pretty popular along there.
  • Never been in area Like this just amazing, also host the best strip of beach on the island!
