Patios de Cordoba, Cordoba
(4.7/5 based on 1,400+ reviews on the web)
Patios de Cordoba maintains an architectural heritage dating back to the city's Roman period. Ancient inhabitants realized that an inner courtyard featuring a fountain provided relief from the region's hot, dry climate. The Moors improved on the design by adding flowers to the courtyards. Numerous areas of Córdoba still display these courtyards as they were hundreds of years ago, but you'll find the largest concentration of them in the district of Alcázar Viejo. Many residents keep their courtyards open to the public, so pop into a few and admire the displays of colorful flowers spilling over the backdrop of white-walled houses. • In Cordoba, my home town, residents who had a patio at home, took care of it and put it nice, with potted plants, flowers, and many other things, and over the years it was establishing how typical stroll to see them in may, which is when they are most beautiful. It is an experience that you should not miss.

  • Strolling through the ancient streets Cordova, we saw so many beautiful courtyards with flowers. Patios are open and you can go inside to admire the beauty. Very unusual and fantastically beautiful. Very happy with a visit to Cordoba.

  • San Basilio are the smallest, the most beautiful and most secret. In the rest of the city, point your nose in each opening showing a patio. There is some magic. The third place where you meet great patios in the Palacio de Viana. Not to Miss!
