Patios de Cordoba, Cordoba

(4.7/5 based on 1,500+ reviews on the web)
Patios de Cordoba maintains an architectural heritage dating back to the city's Roman period. Ancient inhabitants realized that an inner courtyard featuring a fountain provided relief from the region's hot, dry climate. The Moors improved on the design by adding flowers to the courtyards. Numerous areas of Córdoba still display these courtyards as they were hundreds of years ago, but you'll find the largest concentration of them in the district of Alcázar Viejo. Many residents keep their courtyards open to the public, so pop into a few and admire the displays of colorful flowers spilling over the backdrop of white-walled houses. • What I discovered years ago and again every two or three years, because it never is the same as it is to be expected. New new flower pots new provision within its idiosyncrasies. And after seeing them to eat early in the area before it reaches the rush hour. After that the Botanical Garden.

  • If you go to Cordoba in may not perch the opportunity of visiting the patios. This month people open the doors of their houses so that the visitors can admire the beauty of its gardens. It is a very typical festival of the city and visitors can even help you choose the most beautiful courtyard through an online voting.
