Calleja de las Flores, Cordoba

4.0
#5 of 19 in Historic Sites in Cordoba
In a city full of charming and narrow streets, Calleja de las Flores in particular stands out. The slim alleyway runs between a small plaza containing a fountain and the bell tower of Cordoba's mosque-cathedral. Your postcard-ready photo opportunity comes at the plaza, where you can fill your frame with the cascading flowers fronting the houses on either side of the alley and the alley itself leading down to the bell tower. A visit to Calleja de las Flores represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Cordoba sightseeing planner to plot your vacation.

It is a callejita of the Jewish Cordoba, finished in a little square with a view, the Tower of the Cathedral, which is impressive by day and night magic. Forbidden to leave without visit Cordoba. And a forced stop, have a drink in one of the taverns of the street Velázquez Bosco or surrounding area.

When they told me to go the way of flowers, I figured ... ... ... I leave you the surprise, it's worth it

  • Very simple and very nice. Don't go out of your way to see, but if you happen to be close by, its cute to take a picture there. We also enjoyed sitting in the square at the top of the alley and watching the tourists occasionally.
  • Visited on our winter break. It wasn't busy at all. We loved it.
  • One of the loveliest spot in town. Tiny alley way with bright beautiful flowers contrasting with white wash wall.
  • There's no reason to seek out this street when then are other beautiful streets in Cordoba. Just walk around and look.
  • Very beautiful but the street is quite narrow.

Where to stay in Cordoba

To experience the heart of Cordoba's old-world charm, the famous Jewish Quarter, or Judería, offers an array of family-owned pensions and boutique hotels with close proximity to the city's main attractions and lively tapas culture. A number of newer hotels surround the local train and bus stations offering more spacious accomodations, although removed from the city's historical district. Above all, be sure to book a hotel equipped with air conditioning as Cordoba is famous for its scorching tempuratures during the late spring and summer.
