  • The Califales are a very ancient hammam Banos accidentally discovered in the 20th century, which was part of the late Alcazar omayade and was restored as a museum about a decade ago. An interesting environment if you are researching the past of Cordoba.

  • This is one of the Arab baths in Cordoba, well preserved, although not very extensive. It is worth visiting, although there are other more exciting (for example that of Valencia).

  • You must visit to see more about everyday life in these places. That said, audios were in English, we hope but in following reproduction continued in English, so we had you to ask the person who was responsible for the place that if it could change them to Spanish, it is a shame that with the language so beautiful that it is Spanish and even more while in Spain the audio matching foreign language...

  • Go on a Thursday if possible as the visit is free of charge. The place was quite hot which made the visit a bit unpleasant. You can learn about the baths back in the days of the Arab kings. The place is well-organized with information boards in English and Spanish. Moreover, there is a small section with some seating for visitors where you can enjoy a brief video explanation.
  • Closed Monday. Tue-Sun 8:30- (summer 2:30 or 3:00) mid Sept- mid June. 2.50€. Partly some original stone work, partly a restoration to give you an idea of the state originally. Worth the visit
  • Al very hypothetical, it doesn't look like anything authentic is exposed there. Also the exhibition doesn't state anything about Medina al Zara, where the calif would have had a second bath then?
  • Good museum showing baths used by Caliphs living in Cordoba 10th-12th centuries
  • Good to understand the history of baño but its sad that it doesn't have English explanations.

Where to stay in Cordoba

To experience the heart of Cordoba's old-world charm, the famous Jewish Quarter, or Judería, offers an array of family-owned pensions and boutique hotels with close proximity to the city's main attractions and lively tapas culture. A number of newer hotels surround the local train and bus stations offering more spacious accomodations, although removed from the city's historical district. Above all, be sure to book a hotel equipped with air conditioning as Cordoba is famous for its scorching tempuratures during the late spring and summer.
