  • Located about 1 h 30 drive from Madrid, the mills of Consuegra make us travel in the heart of the novel Don Quixote. To have the most beautiful view, appointment at the end of the path until the last mill. You will have an overview of all the windmills and the Castle. It's a perfect stop to stretch the legs. The view of the surrounding countryside is beautiful, but is even more so one of the windmills. In our travel itinerary, I very much wanted to go see the windmills and I had to drag my spouse by force. In the end, he loved it and didn't regret that I insist so much to take him! This judgment will appeal to the whole family. It is also possible to visit some mills. When we went (a Wednesday), there was hardly anyone so we had plenty of time to wander at our own pace without being invaded by a horde of tourists. I can't tell if it is more busy weekend. If you are driving, you can park for free at the tourist office and you have to walk about 10 minutes to get to the road that leads to the mills. Otherwise, it is also possible to mount the car until the Mills Road (there are free parking spaces along the mills) and the road is very well to get there by car (wide enough to pass 2 cars in the opposite direction without problem).

  • Recommended if are in the area, especially if traveling with children. We left the car in the parking lot and got a walk.
