Castrillo de los Polvazares, Castrillo de los Polvazares

(4.7/5 based on 480+ reviews on the web)
The village of Castrillo de los Polvazares was one of the main Spanish resistance epicenters during the French conquests. Today, tourists traipse its cobblestone walkways instead of soldiers. Red clay houses with colorfully painted window frames and doors flank the pathways, giving you a glimpse of what 16th-century Spain must have been like. Every building in the village is well preserved; even the paths seem as if they were just laid the day before. Consider a tour on quad bike or horseback. Or, grab a meal at Entrepiedras Restaurant, known for its traditional fare and frequented by visitors and locals alike. • With time and a good camera you can spend a very good time. There are many narrow streets where you make good pictures. And if someone passes the photos, you can enjoy a stroll calmly, stopping from time to time.

  • A small village but charming to spend a morning and eat a maragato stew. The entire village built of stone. A man striking at the entrance to playing the guitar.

  • Entering Castrillo is like stepping back in time. Walk its cobbled streets and watch each and every one of its doors and windows ea a pleasure. Light and color invites amateur photography lis to forget del.mundo and capture the beauty of the place. The car is left in a parking lot there is enabled at the entrance, is banned blood flow to non-residents.
