Une cathédrale à l´architecture typiquement espagnole dont le porche à été en partie vandalisé par les armées napoléoniennes. La visite de l'intérieur est surprenante. Beautiful Cathedral with a reasonable entrance fee. The stained glass windows are lovely and I really liked the room to the side that give you a good understanding of the history of the building. The garden was also nice with a couple of friendly cats who came to say hello when I came in.

The interpretation of gothic architecture here in Barcelona is called Catalan Gothic and this church is a great example of that style. Look up towards the rose window, it’s one of the world’s largest. One thing I quickly discover about Barcelona is that there’s another world of folklore and legends surrounding the old city. The stories dates back to the Romans, who legend tells planted a pine tree here to mark their conquest. Other tales talk about giants, figures that can be seen inside the church. There’s another story about how a figure of the Virgin Mary is found inside the trunk of a pine tree, hence the name Santa Maria del Pi, the Virgin Mary inside the Pine. To this day, there’s still a pine tree right outside the church in the square.
Lovely gothic church, nice for a walk around. We had a coffee in the courtyard as well, it was a good way to spend an hour
What a sight! Gothic Church from the 14th century - we had lunch in the courtyard adjacent, it was lovely.
I could only see the exterior. It was just amazingly beautiful old basilique! I could never forget the atmosphere around the church.
