  • It is located on a promontory overlooking limestone, from which you can enjoy the panoramic views of the Valley and the Mediterranean coast. Also accounts with references to Jimena, Castellar and Gibraltar. The remains that are still preserved fortress, confirm its defensive importance during the 13th century, forming part of the protectorate benimerin. It is of irregular structure with a radius of 770,50 metres and a surface of 23.692 square meters. At the time he understood all the villa that was expanding outside the walls, leaving inside the ancient Church of the incarnation of the late 16th century and some other buildings that have been converted into bed and breakfast and the Museum of ethnohistory. It is the most frequented tourist destinations, being the "Arco de la Villa" the point of access to the fortress. Another door which is still is the "Arch of el Arrabal".
