  • I really like the Organization of the visit, to enter and walk through the remains of the building, is impressive.

  • If you are interested in ancient archeology, then this remains a must in Cartagena. You will be in the midst of an active dig (they have completed on section and are about to begin working on a temple...  more »
  • Take a walk around this site takes you to the daily life of the Roman period. Very well restored it is easy to imagine how I lived then.

  • Worth a visit of you are interested in Roman history. An English audio guide would be really welcome. Notice that part of the site is still a work in progress and it cannot be accessed.
  • “Disappointing” I thought this was a bit of a waste of time. The building remains are OK, there's some things of interest there, but there needs to be more to this kind of thing that just some old ruins to bring the history of the place to life. A guided tour, an audio tour, some videos showing what life was like....Something to help you understand better where you are and what it means. I felt they could do so much more with this place to make it an interesting visit.
  • Great place to learn about the city's Roman past. The set of baths, peristyle and serapeion-iseion (temple dedicated to Isis more complex banquet halls) is of the few preserved in the Iberian Peninsula.

  • Archaeological site located on the southern slope of the Hill of the windlass, in the urban centre of the city. In my opinion, the area of the Roman Forum and the Roman Theatre, with its Museum, are the two essential visits if you want to know the Roman Cartagena.
