  • After long time wanting to know this Archaeological Park, I could finally take my Thorn and know him. Surprised me greatly to find some mosaics of this size and quality in the middle of la sagra Toledo. They are probably of the most impressive we have in Spain. The park consists of 3 buildings that you can visit and the interpretation centre, where you put a video presentation, are explanatory models and you can enjoy some temporary exhibitions. We were lucky to bump us with a guide who kindly explained to us in detail the rooms. The truth is that the visit is well worth, especially if you like culture and mythology Roman (represented in the mosaics of the House of Maternus, the main building of the Park). However, I cannot help but be critical to see certain things. I dislike it quite see how in our country, where we have an important heritage and cultural wealth, we are terribly bad in marketing efforts (to make it) and almost worst yet in the care and maintenance of the same work. The Archaeological Park of Carranque is a clear example of this. A unique place in Spain with a very high historical value and gives the impression of being mounted hastily and improvised way. I am aware that to be 1,400 years old ruins, these will not be in perfect condition. However, I think that many times both the content and the continent. The House of maternal this within a ship that is more like a straw dryer. Something HORRIBLE that left enough charm to the place. In any other country in Europe the regional and national Governments would have done important work conditioning (and even reconstruction) for the enjoyment of the people. I hope to go back and see that this "solar with Roman ruins" has become an archaeological Park of truth.

  • After crossing the Guadarrama River via a bridge with wooden flooring, one gets to a place with hidden wonders, a visit to the past of the Iberian peninsula. A Roman villa farm, with its olive groves, vineyards and forest. With a main house, where lived the dominos with his family, with the typical characteristics of the Roman stately homes. Highlighting the beauty of soils, all of mosaics, made with a few tiny tesserae and depicting mythological scenes with a beauty that impresses. In addition there are other remains of buildings, mausoleum, palatial building. Later in Visigothic times become Church. Even perceived Islamic past

  • Really worthwhile if you are a lover of history and, if not, it is a highly recommended site, visit is precious, mosaics are fascinating, and the fact to be contemplating a work that takes us back in time more than 1600 years, deserves. Re-fuel

  • Good morning. Tomorrow is we have gone there and say that the area for parking and access to the Park is terrible. A site had to park the vehicle and horrible slope to climb. At the end we are left without visiting the park for this inconvenience and we have had to turn around. With the desire we had to see it and as well that we had spoken of the Roman Villa and others. I hope they conditioned him otherwise or that they solve it because this will lead people as we make the turn.

  • The visit was guided, great. Beautiful view of the surroundings of the Guadarrama River as it passes through the site. The mosaic itself, already worth a visit.

  • A piece of history in Carranque. Ready to go with the family. normal entrance € 5 and paying €2 extra guide you visit in group, it is worth to take this last option. That if, in spring and summer better go early, the heat can be unbearable!
