  • It is located in a very beautiful landscape, surrounded by mountains. It is a Romanesque monastery of which you can see the cloister and the Church. He is accessed easily by car along a road from pots, and you can park without problems. The set does not have great artistic interest, is very sober and not houses works that are very striking. However, it has great historical and religious importance. Here the famous Beatus of Liébana produced is and also a chapel of the Church is preserved in the relic of the lignum crucis, a piece of wood which is said was part of the cross which was Jesus Christ. This relic is exposed to the public at certain times by a religious that explains the origin of the same and the certainties that we have about it. We saw the lignum crucis in the evening from 17:00. It is a visit that takes not too long, and is free. Although it is not religious visit is worthwhile if you are there, by the beauty of its Romanesque architecture and its environment. There is a souvenir shop on the same monastic complex which can be accessed from the outside.

  • Very close to the village of Potes, lies this beautiful monastery, surrounded by a heavenly landscape. Founded in the S.VII and was subsequently rebuilt in the Cistercian style. In the interior of the monastery exudes peace and faith of all the pilgrims who visit it. A young monk, explains how in the S.VIII, arrived here more stub that remained of the cross of Christ, cover art by Toribio, Bishop of Astorga. You can touch the Lignum Crucis and the monk, very friendly, allows that you can take a picture with the relic. Visit essential for believers and lovers of art.
