Cueva El Soplao, Cantabria
Categories: Caves, Nature & Parks
Come to to see its helictites--stalactites unusual for the way they defy gravity--and sheets of calcite that in many cases appear translucent. A train brings you through the cave entrance into its main chambers. Continue on foot through the tunnels and different “rooms” to view the wondrous formations they contain. The size of the vast Gallery Gorda should make you feel small in comparison. In the Gallery of the Forest, columns of joined stalactites and stalagmites create the appearance of a forest. If you're more adventurous, take a longer tour--headlamps, overalls, and rubber boots provided. Are something worthy of view and different to other caves. Very good organization for the high number of visitors. Groups of 50 people every 15 minutes. Not worked the train that you enter in the cave but the price is equal, 12 € the entry general. They don't like in any Castle of France who lowered the price by living in restoration.show original
It'a a great place to visit. The caves are wonderful
Huge Caves! This place is really worth a visit. The cave is vast and truly spectacular to see, and the miners train you take adds to the fun. The views of the surrounding mountains are worth the trip alone.
Spectacular cave. Get there early to get your time slot to visit the cave. Tour is in Spanish but it didn't really matter as you are really just taking in the scenery.
Excelent, well worth the visit.
