Nice Church, very big!
The parish church of our Lady of the assumption, known as the Cathedral of the Campinapor its size, could have originated in the Church of Santa Maria, which rose next to the castle on the ancient mosque after the Christian conquest of the city by Fernando III. Gothic-Renaissance, its vaults, pillars and arches are Gothic style and are attributed to Hernán Ruiz, the old, Hernán Ruiz, the young (1556) and Hernán Ruiz III. It is formed by three naves without transept separated by arches and has spacious dimensions: 53 metres long and 22 wide. The headwaters of the ships are square and vaults. To the sides of ships stretching to two rows of chapels that could form the other two ships, why say it has dimensions of Cathedral. The impressive altarpiece, Renaissance, dates from the 16th century and is attributed to William of Orta and Andrés de Castillejo, with paintings by Leonardo Enríquez de Navarra. Also highlights the retablo and Baroque hexagonal Chapel of the Virgen del Rosario (from the beginning of the 18th century), currently the Tabernacle Chapel. Finally, it is worth mentioning custody Rococo (18th century) Damian de Castro cordoban Goldsmith. It also emphasizes Baroque side door from the 18th century and the Tower, whose works started in 1611 and ended in 1788. This tower is a construction of 55 meters high, all-brick except the stone red molinaza base. It is one of the best-known symbols of the city, because his silhouette can be seen between the hills of olive trees from several kilometers away. It is the tallest building in the province and has about meter and a half pitch, emulating the Tower of Pisa. Also should be noted the main, all cover of the old convent of el Carmen and is situated opposite the Plaza de Santa Ana, known popularly as the old Paseo.
