  • It is on the banks of the Cidacos River, guarded by the Episcopal Palace and the promenade of the balls. In this same place have been built several churches before. Began renovating the former, towards the end of the 15th century, and will be completed in the year 1900 with the placement of the altarpiece of the high altar, since the former was burned in the fire of June 13, 1900. A large Atrium precedes the Cathedral. The compass rose is placed in the center of the pavement. The facade is Baroque for some, neoclassical for others, is built at the end of the eighteenth. It is designed as an altarpiece of three bodies topped in a triangular pediment. It is original which should be lowered a few steps to enter it, perhaps because the previous temples had gateway at the level of the river. In the avenues of the Cidacos, probably would flood the Cathedral and this, together with the birth of the road or bridge, prompted some defenses, elevating the doors to do is. Thus were born those stairs that descend to see inside. Upon entering the Cathedral we find ourselves faced with the Kings, rococo style altarpiece. It consists of a body, three streets and an attic. Medallion of the adoration of the Kings, relief of St. Jerome and Cristo de la Agonía

  • It must be seen with the guided tour are Saturday from the twelve. The guide is an old man and visit lasts more than one hour. The only thing that is charged is when you enter in the sacristy two euros. Pretty well explains it.

  • Calahorra, the second population of all it Rioja, is is to a side of it route in the tourist that goes of Zaragoza to Logroño, but is worth it penalty make a stop, of some hours although is, in this city that had an importance outstanding in others times, from the religious (headquarters of the diocese) to economic. Santa Maria, at the entrance to the town, is good evidence of this.
