Park Genoves, Cadiz

4.5
#1 of 6 in Parks in Cadiz
Nestled between the historic old town and the Atlantic Ocean on the eastern end of Cadiz, Park Genoves offers an exotic garden oasis away from the bustle of the city. Lined with many different species of palm trees, cypresses, and cacti, the park lies along Cadiz’s coastal walking circuit. Many of the plants here were originally brought to Spain as discoveries from the New World. Stroll down a wide boulevard dotted with benches and fountains, through shaded grottos, or along one of the area’s many winding side paths that lead to a variety of smaller gardens. Be sure to visit the nearby beach, and remember to check the park's online schedule, as it occasionally hosts concerts. • A nice place to walk round and enjoy the air. There are a lot of fountains. But so,e of them are dirty and disgusting, due to people throwing their waste in which is disappointing but there are a lot of fountains that are clear water and look lovely to sit around on the park bench. There is a bit that is fenced off at the moment that looks really good which was disappointing and it looks like it has been fenced off for a while. (For future readers: it may not be fenced off at the time you are reading this but google will tell you how old this review is. If the area is still fenced of when you went there yourself, please like this review). In conclusion this is a very nice park with beautiful trees chopped into spirals.
  • Cadiz is an easy city to walk around, enjoying the wonderful views of sea and old buildings as you go. Here in the park you can take a quiet break in the shade and watch the world go by! At the northern end look for the fishermen near the old sentry box and check their catch!
  • Beautiful park. There´s a coffee shop inside and a garden pond with a small waterfall.
  • A wonderful place to just relax and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere of the Park . Sadly although it's located directly next to the sea , there's a huge building between the Park and the sea blocking the sight ...
  • A pleasant stroll just away from the sea. There's a strange modern slope to a viewpoint along the front, and the theatre is in dire need of an upgrade. At the southern end of the park is the nice "Café Bar El Parque" with an amazing selection of snacks and drinks.
