Park Genoves, Cadiz
Categories: Nature & Parks
Nestled between the historic old town and the Atlantic Ocean on the eastern end of Cadiz, Park Genoves offers an exotic garden oasis away from the bustle of the city. Lined with many different species of palm trees, cypresses, and cacti, the park lies along Cadiz’s coastal walking circuit. Many of the plants here were originally brought to Spain as discoveries from the New World. Stroll down a wide boulevard dotted with benches and fountains, through shaded grottos, or along one of the area’s many winding side paths that lead to a variety of smaller gardens. Be sure to visit the nearby beach, and remember to check the park's online schedule, as it occasionally hosts concerts. A lovely park with lots of benches in terms shade and 2 snack vendors for food and drinks. You could sit and read a book r bring a picnic as it's very peaceful.
Well worth a visit, lots of specimen trees. Bit spoiled by the incomplete theatre in the middle, which seems to have been abandoned.
