  • Next to the Plaza de las Flores with its flower market is the Mercado Central, the Classicist building of the market. A beautiful market Hall, which opened in October 2009 after three years of intensive reconstruction. The culinary offer is tempting.

  • Great, a real market with fish and crustaceans as impossible to see in France especially at these prices. Kiosks to eat at unbeatable prices. I recommend the paella (light but OK, perfect for children who don't eat the tortilla with shrimp, fish fried rice :-)) and cerveza for € 2 a half litre.)

  • Come to Cadiz and not to visit the central market, your visit would be lame. On the market are lives the daily life of the city, with its stalls of meat, fruit, and especially those of fish, see the number of species and with an enviable freshness. It is worth a visit to this place.

  • I love this market! It smells amazingly fresh considering how much meat and fish is sold here - and if you watch the crews cleaning it after sellers leave, you’ll know why. Absolutely beautiful food, and for once, you should come with an appetite - just listen for the paella bell and come running. Be sure to admire the exotic shellfish and glistening, ruby-red hunks of tuna in the fish section.
  • . . You must NOT miss a visit to this - it is the most AMAZING place ever! Not interested in shopping? Never mind, this is still the place for you. it is not a shopping experience, it is a life-enhancing experience. Trust me! If you are self-catering in an apartment or a campsite, you certainly need to visit here, with some large shopping bags or baskets. If you are in a hotel, you should come anyway, as it is a great experience. The market hall is open mornings only, Monday to Saturday. N.B. no fish section on Mondays as the boats don't go out on Sunday. The bars and restaurants around it are, most of them, open in the evenings too, but they are certainly an excellent place for a lunch, either a Tapas snack or a bigger meal. But the main sight - and smell - and noise - and atmosphere - is inside. Inside the market the space is crammed with stalls. Different sections tend to be devoted to one type of produce - fish, or meat, or fruit and veg, or organic produce (including for example things made from honey). The choice, the freshness, the variety, the sheer size of it all! Do you know the names of all those vegetables? Ever seen some of those fruit in Waitrose? Is that really a stall selling whole baby pigs? There are fish stalls with the weirdest-looking creatures - does anyone really eat that? And whole tuna, weighing more than you or I! It's an amazing, thrilling, exciting experience, and one that you should just not miss! .
  • Worthy place to visit both during day & night. It is emplaced in a beautiful building with elegant Greek style columns, once in you could check some of the famous products this land provides. At night, it is a cool place to have a light dinner sharing some beers!
  • Don't miss this! Interesting architecture, combining the original market with the new central building. This is also a great place to get your lunch from the different stalls. Fresh, delicious products every day. Worth spending money. A must visit place in Cadiz.
  • Really good chicharrones :) open late sundays. Great environment for family and young people
