Catedral de Cadiz, Cadiz

(4.1/5 based on 1,600+ reviews on the web)
It took five architects 116 years to finish Catedral de Cadiz, and the results are impressive. Starting in the Baroque style, picking up Rococo elements, and finally finishing as a Neoclassical structure, the cathedral features paintings and relics from other cathedrals and monasteries around Spain. Take a tour using one of the provided audio guides, and climb one of the towers of the cathedral for views of the city and the bay. Composer Manuel de Falla and poet and playwright José María Peman rest in the crypt. • The Cathedral of Cadiz is very pretty and is located in a place excellent next to the sea and with plazita to take some appetizer. The entrance fee includes a very complete guide to interior and access to the tower.

  • According to the audio guide, it's the only Spanish cathedral made out of marble. I don't know if it's true but it sure is beautiful on the inside. The entrance is 5 euros and you get a free audio guide and a visit to the tower. I think it's completely worth it and would do it again. The only slight negative for me personally is that the English audio guide gives you too many details which makes it boring after a while (at least for me, may be good for someone with more interest in the subject)
  • 5 euros por entrar. Me niego a pagar
  • I did not enter the cathedral. From outside, the building is really beautiful with great shape and color. The plaza around makes it even splendid.
  • The Cathedral is very beautiful inside and outside. It's characteristic gold dome, one can see almost from every corner of Cadiz. It stands on the lovely square just asking to be visited. Tickets €5 only with audio guide, bell tower (views of all Cadiz) and cathedral museum included is a bargin of a day. Reminds me of the Pantheon in Rome and St Paul's in London.
  • Great from the outside, but we ended up not to enter as the price was not encouraging. €5 euro per person, €3 for children and there were no pictures to invite us entering. I saw an audio guide, but it wasn't clear whether this was included in the price and no English speaking person was able to give info.
