Salvador Dali House, Cadaques

Must see · Art Museum · Historic Site
See into Salvador Dalí’s private life on a tour of Salvador Dali House, where he lived with his wife, Gala. The pair transformed what was a small fisherman’s hut into a labyrinthine home filled with quirks and artistic flair. Walk the narrow corridors and uncover rooms still filled with their possessions. Discover how they adapted the house to influence their surrealist art, using light, acoustics, and proportions. Explore the garden and appreciate the picturesque bay setting. Touring with a guide is a must; book at least one day in advance. By using our Cadaques trip itinerary tool, you can arrange your visit to Salvador Dali House and other attractions in Cadaques.

  • Perfectly preserved, well organised, surprisingly moving visit. The house, the objects, the souvenirs... and the staff's explanations are surprisingly tasteful and evocative,  more »
  • Beautiful location, and beautiful little house. Surprisingly not as eccentric as we expected. Being Dali's house, we expected a lot of unusual decoration and what not, but it wasn't the case. This...  more »
  • Beautiful, fascinating, crazy, and just unique, as he was. A real MUST! One important alert: totally inaccessible for people with stairs problems, as about 50% of the site is steps!  more »
  • Amazing house which gives an insight into Dali's life. Guided tour was quite good, as were videos made by Dali himself. Can get busy. We were lucky to get tickets on the door, but it is safer to book.
  • Amazing. Great insight into him. Guides were really excellent and patient. If you like art whatever the genre and time this is an absolute must. Helps you understand direction and thought and maybe makes one less cynical. Beautiful restful place. Will be back...
  • I love love love Salvador Dali. His home was so fun to walk through the outdoor Garden is very nice as well and his pool is so cool. I would highly recommend getting tickets ahead of time because if you go on the day, on certain days, you cannot possibly get a ticket. Unless you're in a waiting list and we had to wait two hours. But we went and got something to eat and it was worth the wait.
  • It is absolutely worth going. The group consisted of 4 nations but the guide without any problem was speaking in Spanish, French and English. The museum - house - itself is an unforgettable experience. Nice exhibition and breathtaking views from the house.
  • Very friendly and knwoledgeavle guides. Book your visit in advance as the number of places is very limited - around 8 persons per guided tour in the house. The gardens and house terraces are always available for roaming around freely.
