Monfrague National Park offers impressive views, as it contains a ridge of mountains cut by a river with a rock face called Peñafalcón. It covers 18 hectares (45 acres). Birdwatchers come here in droves, as 15 different species of raptors regularly breed here. Keep an eye out for the black stork, Spanish imperial eagle, and the azure-winged magpie. To really catch the best views, leave the car in the parking area and walk up the main hill. • Hello again. Again I write to recommend if they don't know the National Park of Monfragüe, seeking a niche for a ride by the. (province of Caceres) As know is declared space protected, in which is can see great variety of birds, Eagle imperial, vultures, storks, black, Egyptian vultures... also is can see large amount of deer, in autumn already know is produces the rutting, not had the luck of enjoy it. The landscapes are also for the variety of vegetation that exist and the environment with rivers included. The journey by car can be more "comfortable" for those who do not like much, or do some of the highly recommended routes on foot, all very well signposted. By accommodation do not worry there are a variety of cottages, and tell them its extraordinary cuisine. If you have time can visit some people as highly recommended Hervás, and go through the Valley of Jerte if it can be with cherry blossoms simply spectacular. Enjoy it, and please be respectful to be able to continue enjoying what nature gives us.

  • You comment on from the beginning. Reaching this park (who did not know or had heard of it) is the kind of trip that we were doing. A weeklong getaway through Extremadura and Toledo. We visited the Park out of Caceres to Plasencia. To go with children became very entertaining and amusing, to see their faces to find the Griffon Vulture; They overflew a 5 over us he did that we could enjoy them even more closely. The Castle lets you enjoy huge and beautiful views. The entire route was beautiful... And to wonder of my children saw about fawns.

  • National park is must to see in Spain, especially in the month of Mai. There were flowers everywhere. It was really fantastic. Behind Villareal de San Carlos is a nice walking path. It's really enjoyable. It takes about one hour walk among the flowers, trees and birds. The nature is really beautiful. Be careful. There is usually more hot than in other parts of Spain. Obligatory stop also at the rock Salto del Gitano. The park is heaven for birdwatchers.
  • Just great! A real wild life! Griffons (huge birds) are abundant!
