Parque natural s'Albufera de Mallorca, Ca'n Picafort

(4/5 based on 340+ reviews on the web)
Stroll through Parque natural s'Albufera de Mallorca, the largest wetland area in the Balearics, and you're sure to get a look at some of the 271 species of birds that call the preserve home--purple swamp-hen, black-winged stilt, and teal, to name a few. You'll also see myriad fish, reptiles, the rare Barbastelle bat, and the Psyathyrella halofila, a toadstool unique to S’Albufera. The site boasts the highest biodiversity in the Balearics due to the unique confluence of abundant rain, rich sediment, and proximity to the sea, which creates a fertile floodplain environment. Stop by the information center to learn about the wildlife and paths for walking and biking--lengths range from 15 minutes to around 3 hours. Don't forget water as the expansive park can get warm. The birding huts can also be a good place to find shade. • Bike ride away from tourists, we met only a few tourists on the trip. as a part of birds and used the numerous lookout towers. Don't forget binoculars and plenty of water.

  • It is a natural park where you can walk and see the different species of waterfowl that inhabit, and which can be observed from different viewpoints that exist. It is a protected space and tranquility is breathed. Totally recommended

  • The nature park is impressive, because he is in the direct vicinity to the dense built-up tourist area and has so far resisted the development. You can walk for hours through this flat marshland and meet very little people. Since there are no slopes it is also not very strenuous. The admission is free. Recommended. Negative: there are no dining facilities - not even a vending machine. A power-operated oil is located in the neighborhood.
