Paseo del Espolon, Burgos
(4.4/5 based on 440+ reviews on the web)
Lined with trees and bracketed on either side by the Arlanzon River and the classical Spanish architecture of Burgos, Paseo del Espolon is one of Castile’s most beautiful promenades. Admire the traditional Spanish buildings, built upon the site of the old city wall, as you stroll through the heart of the historic town. Visit the Gate of St. Mary, which is one of the few remaining large gates and leads to the large cathedral in Burgos’ historic center. Relax in front of one of the street’s many ponds and fountains, or people-watch with a coffee at a cafe along the way. Be sure to keep an eye out for the intricate statues of former Spanish kings scattered around the avenue. Put Paseo del Espolon on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Burgos trip itinerary builder.

  • All this part of Burgos is very nice, the incredible trees. This centrally located, and parking there is great.

  • The spur ride is the ride par excellence of Burgos, precisely these precious days of Christmas is illuminated their trees, it consists of the wide promenade and ride more narrow on the banks of the river Arlanzón called the espoloncillo, on the one hand starts at the plaza of el Cid and on the other along with Santa Maria bow, you can access the main square by the arcades that show traces of the flooding that devastated the city in different years of the last century to the overflowing of the river. Today there are some cafés of the old, next to the casino that in summer you can enjoy their terrace while children play without danger of cars and on the other hand the Cathedral several that are there are very good. A unforgettable walk in Burgos, visit all.

  • Autumn, Bank of the River, bridges, fallen leaves, fog, silence, sound of water... your partner and you. "A dream". Ride very well care, and very frequented by Burgos and outsiders with many banks for rest. No cars, but all surrounding parking areas are extra. Bars and several terraces.
