Orbaneja del Castillo, Burgos

4.6
#1 of 6 in Nature in Burgos
The village of Orbaneja del Castillo is cut through by a burbling creek that flows from the waterfalls. The town is a quiet place ribboned with narrow streets, hosting visitors interested in eco-tourism, as well as scientists studying the geology of the moors surrounding the town. A number of hikes will lead you out of the village toward the cascading falls and the water cave. Along the way, you'll see stone huts built without mortar that once held grain for the early inhabitants of the area, as well as extensive moors and cultivated farmland.  To visit Orbaneja del Castillo on your trip to Burgos, use our Burgos day trip planning website .

  • It is a people curious to see because it has the peculiarity that passes a waterfall through the Centre of the village. And you have any house located on top of the mountain in a very peculiar way. Another issue is that as it's very touristy, the bars want to do his August with tourists and charged me at the bar Brook €4.5 for a sandwich from fairly small two small pieces of marinated pork loin.

  • The village is beautiful, with its own well maintained. If you upload you can appreciate a good panoramic view of the village with rocky cliffs that surround it. The most photographed are their "camel kissing", a whim of shapes in the rock and waterfall that is modeling the toba. It is forbidden to bathe. The charm is more early or out of season. Then it is already filled with tourists. However it has up to 3 car parks deterrent, to welcome its visitors.

  • Obviously before going already we have seen the place through reports of television programs and pictures, but still not let us impress the beautiful thing that is.

  • Very nice old village in a great landscape.
  • An enviable location makes this a postcard village. that landscape!. However, this has its cross: type Park tourist spot and many of the buildings of the place in ruins. A pity the lack of life in a dream location

  • Beautiful corner in one of the meanders of the River Ebro, with beautiful houses, waterfalls, and surrounded by a castle of rocks.

  • Crowded road cars and people, you cannot pass, parking stone, sand and as wish to leave the car, after an Odyssey to arrive. Restaurants do not hang the poster's full but not accept Diners. Crazy crowded of people, traffic jams, danger of abuses with the car, etc... a complete disappointment.
