A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the 13th-century cathedral features an impressive facade of 88-m (290-ft) spires and large octagonal main chapel, making it the third largest cathedral in Spain. Tour the 17 chapels, admiring beautiful Renaissance and Baroque decor and the elaborate gold staircase of the north transept. Or visit the burial site of the infamous Spanish military leader, El Cid. the Majesty of the Cathedral is reflected from the first step searches inside of it, its chapels its rosettes its altar their altarpieces, his sculptural ensembles, all of it, has left me speechless. Explanations of the audio guide included in the entrance price is worth.

Very large Cathedral with beautiful cloister. What is especially striking is that the Cathedral is so light. In addition, there are great images. Gorgeous.

  • Amazingly huge and full of details and impressive architecture. You can visit most of the cathedral with audioguide for just 6-7€, so it's even cheap compared to other cathedrals in Europe. It's a must see, be ready to spend a full morning admiring it.
  • Absolutely amazing structure and detail. Embodies all the most flagrant excesses of Catholicism. More museum than church. Cannot be missed. You get a phone that guides you around and explains everything. Made me want to cry thinking of all the money these kings and bishops wasted on their self-indulgence instead of in taking care if the welfare if the less privileged.
  • This is a truly awesome place. As a bonus if you go after 1630 on a Tuesday it is free (€3 for the audio guide). Don't leave it too late as it closes at 1900.
  • Pay for all :) Burgos have a nice place and cheaps or free. Religion place pay for public money.
  • One of the best Gothic cathedrals in Europe This place is simply amazing. Don't miss it off you are in Burgos.
