  • Go to Betancuria and don't visit it makes no sense. Interesting though there are churches for example Costa Calma and Vega de Rio Palmas

  • Lanzarote, captured in 1402 Jean IV de Béthencourt Fuerteventura and built the Church Gothic style. The Church of Santa Maria de Betancuria has seven altars. The Mary's altar, style Baroque, from stone, polychrome and gold, is one of the most interesting carvings of Fuerteventura. A transition from the late Gothic in a rural naive Baroque appearance. Due to the frequent predatory raids by Freibäutern, the Church and the city was built on a hill in the Valley and secured. Located about 400 metres above sea level. However, the Church in the 16th was severely damaged Jackson by Freibäutern and restored under great efforts. Betancuria is named after Béthencourt and was the first island capital. Today, Puerto del Rosario is the capital of the island with 30000 inhabitants. Betancuria is today a tourist city and with this gotisch-the Baroque St. Mary's Church, also a visit worth. The street of Pejara with its many curves offers great views of the Atlantic Ocean, until you get to the Green Valley of this barren island in the Atlantic Ocean.

  • Has the cost of a coffee (€1.50) the ticket for visiting this Cathedral, insignificant for history and art that contains this treasure chest in the old capital of Fuerte. Really charge of sacred art (wood and pictorial) and historic atmosphere! Magnificent the sacristy! Worth visiting.

  • Interesting little church in Betancuria which is a whole village set up to milk tourists. Quite dark inside so cool and restful. Some interesting frieze's inside. You have to pay €1.50 to look round unlike most others in the area that are free.
  • beautiful and very old church, you can see they practically used all the available woods for the roof! entry costs 1.5 eur which of course is well worthy it.
  • It's a very nice site to visit while already in charming little Betancuria. A modest admission fee applies!
  • Nice church in the first capital of the Canary Islands! Don’t come and expect something like in Milano, Firenze etc. – Fuerteventura is a small island in the Atlantic ocean. Do not get upset for paying 2 Euros entrance. Money is low on the island and every cent needed to keep the place as nice and beautiful as it is!
  • Great Church, which necessarily should be seen from the inside (occurs only €1.50)! Worth seeing is also the sacristy with an impressive ceiling paintings. On an island that is not exactly rich in cultural attractions, the Church is a must.
