The place is not part of the first visits being considered... but worth it! The different floors of graves, on large walkways is very impressive! The vaults can also be full works and necessarily qq statues will hold your attention...

Historical place. Made me think of life and family. It was interesting to look at the gravestones and hear the whispers from past. Had to trop few tears also.  more »

A very beautiful and quiet cemetery where you can feel the passing. The cemetery dates from 1775 and was the first outside the city walls. These include the famous sculpture "deceased shunned late"! The neighbourhood's own Patron Saint "Santet del Poblenou" can also be found here. In this booth, you can see the letters, cards, etc. that people stopped in through a small slit in the glass. There have been so many things to be taken to a further five niches to accommodate all the different things as "sacrificed".

  • It's really quiet place where you will have a special feeling of calm, rest. And death can be beautiful.
  • Fantastic place with a quietness that is hard to find elsewhere in Barcelona.
  • Perceiving the journey of life preciously...
  • Interesting cemetery to visit if you're into huge funerary monuments. It is one of the older cemeteries in town with some huge and beautiful monuments in the old part of the cemetery, where you can also learn a bit about some of the past residents of Barcelona.
  • Amazing tours at night, only two days a year. Don't miss them! I know it's a cemetery but it's very nice for visiting it...

Where to stay in Barcelona

Because the city's metro system makes traveling from area to area relatively painless, you have more flexibility in choosing a place to stay. Barceloneta, the neighborhood surrounding the city beach is somewhat removed from the city center, making its hotels popular with families. Only a 15-minute walk from the center, Barceloneta has a more laid-back beach atmosphere but still offers several restaurants and entertainment options. Farther away from the beach and closer to the city center, El Born is a charming neighborhood well-known for its restaurants and lively bar scene. Eixample is also popular as it is more central and home to some of the city's best shopping and tourist sites, including La Sagrada Familia. For a more traditional experience, consider staying in the Gothic Quarter, the heart of Old Barcelona. This picturesque neighborhood boasts a tight network of historical architecture with boutique hotels and traditional restaurants.
