Plaza de Cataluna, Barcelona
Categories: Landmarks, Tourist Spots
Some of the city’s most important streets meet in Plaza de Cataluna, the heart of the city. Wander around the square and admire its fountains, statues, and the façades of its impressive buildings. Buy grain to feed the flocks of pigeons that gather here, or sit in one of the square’s numerous cafes, have a coffee, and people watch. Pick up a memento of your vacation at one of the many stores that occupy the square. Work out when and for how long to visit Plaza de Cataluna and other Barcelona attractions using our handy Barcelona trip itinerary builder.

Wonderful both in day and evening time. A lot of tourists. Cosy atmosphere. Nice cafeterias. Very gentle sweet spanish people
We only saw it from outside, but it looked nice. The area itself is quite interesting to walk around.

Best place of Barcelona, connects to great unique stores as apple store or passeig de gracia until la rambla or portal de l'angel. Feel free to enjoy a good walk and have a nice time.
A lovely Plaza where you can see people from all over the world, access great stores and it is a good starting point to explore downtown Barcelona. Options for every budget. Besides, it's close to ELE USAL Barcelona, where I work 😊
In the last 10 years, since the last time I've been here, this place, together with the Ramblas, have degraded a lot. At night there are only shady guys and girls approaching you and proposing drugs, sex and all this sort of stuff. They're very aggressive and literally every 2 steps. I had a very bad impression from this place this time. What a shame, Barcelona.
Center of the city. Walk Paseo de Gracia, Rambla, Portal de l'Angel from here
Crazy busy place, but when you find your seat in the sun, you don't need anything else and you quickly forget millions of tourists. Just a great place to chill.
