Where to stay in Barcelona

Because the city's metro system makes traveling from area to area relatively painless, you have more flexibility in choosing a place to stay. Barceloneta, the neighborhood surrounding the city beach is somewhat removed from the city center, making its hotels popular with families. Only a 15-minute walk from the center, Barceloneta has a more laid-back beach atmosphere but still offers several restaurants and entertainment options. Farther away from the beach and closer to the city center, El Born is a charming neighborhood well-known for its restaurants and lively bar scene. Eixample is also popular as it is more central and home to some of the city's best shopping and tourist sites, including La Sagrada Familia. For a more traditional experience, consider staying in the Gothic Quarter, the heart of Old Barcelona. This picturesque neighborhood boasts a tight network of historical architecture with boutique hotels and traditional restaurants.

  • After reading the fantastic reviews we headed up to the pool to find it closed. There were only seagulls swimming in the pool. It's a real shame as it looks like a fantastic pool.  more »
  • A bit of a hidden gem in Barcelona, not many tourists there and the views are simply breathtaking. If you're heading to Barcelona and want to swim & sunbathe I'd advise you to avoid the crowded beach ...  more »
  • 20 odd euros for a family of 4. It's quiet. It overlooks the city. It really is a hidden gem of a pool. There are sunbeds but not many and they're always popular. We took towels like most people and t...  more »

  • If you just pass walking, you won't be able to notice this municipal pool. I have been attracted here because of the noise of a water polo match. Great entertainment, the place looks stunning as shown the picture below. You can also enjoy the landscape of the beautiful Catalonian city!
  • It looks stunning. But it's not open until end of June :( would be good if they updated opening times
  • Great pools but hard to see if youre just walking by.
  • I liked the swimming pool and the views but there were lots of gipsy people who behaved very poorly and the lack of grass to lay down. I'd rather go to Dir Diagonal. Although it lacks the views, it has better atmosphere and it has lots of grass.
  • Absolutely stunning setting, with amazing views over Barcelona. Beautiful pools and facilities to be treasured.
