  • La Mercè is the patron saint of the city of Barcelona. The basilica is very pretty and I love it because you can walk up the stairs and playing at the Virgin. If you have the luck to be in the month of September in Barcelona, we celebrate the Festival of la Mercè, I you do not lose them to me!

  • While walking along the banks of the Moll de la Fusta, over the roof of one of the Government buildings, you can see the female figure. Through a narrow passage, you find yourself on the square and the Basilica of the Virgin of charity. Basilica de la Mare de Deu de la Merce beautiful on the internal decoration of the place. Above the entrance there is a stained glass window in the shape of a circle, through which the Sun's rays fall inside. Magnificent altar. The left and right of the altar, you can climb the stairs to the shape of the Virgin, and from it to pass on to domestic premises. In one of them-bust of Christ in the circlet. The other cast metal bas-relief depicting worship before God. Through the open doors are visible and other images of the Virgin. Experience peace of mind helps quiet music that fills the internal volume of the temple. No matter what faith you do not forget to light a little candle.

  • He had been in the plaza de la Mercè and walking by his surroundings, but never came. As we were a a guided tour it was interesting to learn about the history of this basilica. Almost destroyed in the civil war, it took care to restore it according to photographs and drawings that existed. Curious to know that there is a shortcut of captaincy to the basilica, since they are joined by a bridge. Nice to find out that the image (Romanesque), was saved from being burned by a neighbor of the neighborhood... and there remains.
