  • If visit you the Gothic quarter near the Cathedral of Barcelona a courtyard or ago the remains of a Roman temple. There are only three columns of this temple and a few stones but worth the trip and the visit is free. It also lets you take a break from the Sun. Roman remains are always interesting because it is more than 1800 years. Enjoy your visit.

  • Find the remains of a small Roman temple in Barcelona, among the alleys of the Barrí Gothic, "stuck" between the inhabited buildings which were built over time all around and almost wearing l Temple ... is priceless.

  • Preserved columns from a 1st C BC Roman Temple that stood in the center of the forum at that time. It stood in use until the 5th C AD, when Christianity gained power in the area and the temple was left to decline. Very quiet peaceful little courtyard just off the square down a small alleyway. Worth a side trip... history is here
  • A great ancient piece and historic heritage hidden between the alleys of the Gothic quarter. Kind of hard to find without Maps. Worth the visit if you admire history and architecture. If not, do not bother finding three old pillars.
  • Four large, weathered columns. Pretty neat sight, but if you've been to Rome, there's no real need to stop here.
  • By far, one of the best hidden jewels Barcelona has to offer. I take every guest I have to see these beautiful Roman remains. A must see!
  • Definitely worth a quick look. The columns are beautiful and their setting is really bizarre! I found the info signs and photos very interesting, made me want to know more about the history of the city.

Where to stay in Barcelona

Because the city's metro system makes traveling from area to area relatively painless, you have more flexibility in choosing a place to stay. Barceloneta, the neighborhood surrounding the city beach is somewhat removed from the city center, making its hotels popular with families. Only a 15-minute walk from the center, Barceloneta has a more laid-back beach atmosphere but still offers several restaurants and entertainment options. Farther away from the beach and closer to the city center, El Born is a charming neighborhood well-known for its restaurants and lively bar scene. Eixample is also popular as it is more central and home to some of the city's best shopping and tourist sites, including La Sagrada Familia. For a more traditional experience, consider staying in the Gothic Quarter, the heart of Old Barcelona. This picturesque neighborhood boasts a tight network of historical architecture with boutique hotels and traditional restaurants.
