  • Place of visit: MUHBA El Call Fecha of visit: 06/05/2017 at this museum can review the history of the Jewish quarter of Barcelona, from its origins, through touchscreens that are scattered throughout the Museum. We also have traces of ancient dwellings.

  • The Museum is housed in an old house Jewish where we can see its foundations. Next to the Museum, we have to visit the Jewish quarter or call as 4 plots or a few numbered alleys that can go in 10 minutes and where we can read explanatory posters of each singular point. The Museum is very didactic and using panels elaborates on the call, its history, its influence and its link to the city. Noteworthy is the role of the community between the cultures, Arab, Christian and Jewish, their influence in the city and this part of the Mediterranean Jewish communities, and its celebrities and their books, as some of the math and algebra inspired by knowledge of Arabic origin. A small but complete and specialized museum which certainly will help us understand about this part of the history of the city which went into decline with the intransigence Christian at the time of the Crusades.

  • Even such small museums sometimes have merit. This is exactly the case! Do not apply go!

  • The information wasn't very clear and I from what I know there's a lot more to tell about the jews in Spain in those time and was a bit disappointed from the somewhat bland displays
  • Really great informative museum about the history of the Jewish community of Barcelona. There are many interactive exhibits that have many language options and a great video presentation.
  • Very small. As part of MUHBA project but interesting

  • Essential to know the Jewish past of the city. The Museum is small and the Museology is nothing of the other world.

  • The Jewish past of the city suffered great forgetfulness, realizes that in this Museum, which is to recover his memory. Perhaps you know just for minds eager to learn more about this part of the city's past. But it is in my opinion enough to encourage more restless minds to inquire more about this part of the history of Barcelona.

Where to stay in Barcelona

Because the city's metro system makes traveling from area to area relatively painless, you have more flexibility in choosing a place to stay. Barceloneta, the neighborhood surrounding the city beach is somewhat removed from the city center, making its hotels popular with families. Only a 15-minute walk from the center, Barceloneta has a more laid-back beach atmosphere but still offers several restaurants and entertainment options. Farther away from the beach and closer to the city center, El Born is a charming neighborhood well-known for its restaurants and lively bar scene. Eixample is also popular as it is more central and home to some of the city's best shopping and tourist sites, including La Sagrada Familia. For a more traditional experience, consider staying in the Gothic Quarter, the heart of Old Barcelona. This picturesque neighborhood boasts a tight network of historical architecture with boutique hotels and traditional restaurants.
