  • Unlike the Boquería, you will meet more locals than tourists. Clean and good products.

  • This is a place where you can buy local food just like in a real market and on the contrary to L. B....... there is no tourist scam. We went to Torres Vilà to buy some bellota and queso manchego. We g...  more »

  • A hidden gem in Barcelona. Though it is not big, it is very clean, organized, and has a nice modern interior decor! Fresh produces and seafood are available at a fairly reasonable price! Plus there are a supermarket and huge florist shop inside the market as well!
  • A spin on the traditional old market place. Completely re done inside with a full grocery, flower market, appliance store and a handful of specialty meat and cheeses vendors.
  • A fantastic sight to see. There's a great offering of food, drinks and other goods at really low prices. Definitely worth a visit if you want to see the local side of Barcelona
  • Fantastic place, lots of local stuff: meat, fruits, bread, gazpacho and flowers. You can eat something, drink coffee.
  • A lovely market with the freshest produce and bakeries selling delicious freshly baked Spanish pastries.

Where to stay in Barcelona

Because the city's metro system makes traveling from area to area relatively painless, you have more flexibility in choosing a place to stay. Barceloneta, the neighborhood surrounding the city beach is somewhat removed from the city center, making its hotels popular with families. Only a 15-minute walk from the center, Barceloneta has a more laid-back beach atmosphere but still offers several restaurants and entertainment options. Farther away from the beach and closer to the city center, El Born is a charming neighborhood well-known for its restaurants and lively bar scene. Eixample is also popular as it is more central and home to some of the city's best shopping and tourist sites, including La Sagrada Familia. For a more traditional experience, consider staying in the Gothic Quarter, the heart of Old Barcelona. This picturesque neighborhood boasts a tight network of historical architecture with boutique hotels and traditional restaurants.
