Create an itinerary including Mercat de la Barceloneta
Soak up some Barcelona culture by diving into the atmosphere of Mercat de la Barceloneta, a huge draw for both impassioned foodies and architecture enthusiasts. The market occupies a modern building constructed of glass and steel and serves as a major landmark in one of Barcelona's most colorful neighborhoods. Inside is the usual setup of vegetable and meat stalls, as well as several sit-down eateries where you can rest and grab a warm meal. Although safe and friendly, the market gets extremely busy during lunchtime, so it's a good idea to leave your personal items at the hotel. • This is a meat and seafood market. Some stalls also sell fruits. But this market is seriously overpriced. It is near the Gothic Quarter and if can drop by if you are in the vicinity. Not worth...

  • Stay away if you are foreign you will be cheated! I have lived in the local neighborhood for a few months. Every time I go to this market I land up paying a lot more than in supermarkets or local fruit & vegetables shops. I have caught the fruit vendor charging me €3.99 for asparagus when the price displayed was €2,99. And today, I was charged €3.90 for 3 bananas!!!! €6 p/kg 😒even in the top ecological supermarket in Barcelona you do not pay that much. Similar with some of the vendors selling fish. So disappointing as I’m a strong believe in supporting local economy. Not all foreigners are rich, so please stop ripping us off. We are here working, and paying taxes.
  • Nice little market with great local produce, the restaurants on the front are super friendly and amazing food
  • This place feels and smells so fresh. The best place to unwind in BCN
  • Lots of quality fresh foods. Great to get the morning groceries!
  • Nice market place with high quality food.
