  • Mercat San Antoni, on the edge of Raval district, is great even in its temp sheds, next to its classic building being rehabbed.  more »
  • This market is a must stop. So much to choose from. Fresh fruit, meat cuts, fish, processed meats and so much more. A lot of different things to try and to buy.  more »
  • Visited the place twice during my stay in Barcelona and wouldn't mind visiting more. A great place to try some good treats. Enjoyed the wide variety of juices and fruits and grabbed a quick falafel sa...  more »

  • Best market in barca, still in a temporary location till oktober 2017. Cant wait till restoration is over and its back in the old location!
  • Too good place to buy every thing you want and a cheaper price
  • Didn't get to see it in the main building but the temporary one still had plenty of options for produce, meat, and seafood. If you're looking for something to eat probably try somewhere else as options are limited and generally all the same.
  • The market is actually still a construction site and only with a frame can be seen. It has been building for long time and don't know when it will be completed.
  • When reopening end of 2017 this will be the best market in the area with a big supermarket in the basement

Where to stay in Barcelona

Because the city's metro system makes traveling from area to area relatively painless, you have more flexibility in choosing a place to stay. Barceloneta, the neighborhood surrounding the city beach is somewhat removed from the city center, making its hotels popular with families. Only a 15-minute walk from the center, Barceloneta has a more laid-back beach atmosphere but still offers several restaurants and entertainment options. Farther away from the beach and closer to the city center, El Born is a charming neighborhood well-known for its restaurants and lively bar scene. Eixample is also popular as it is more central and home to some of the city's best shopping and tourist sites, including La Sagrada Familia. For a more traditional experience, consider staying in the Gothic Quarter, the heart of Old Barcelona. This picturesque neighborhood boasts a tight network of historical architecture with boutique hotels and traditional restaurants.
