MACBA Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona, Barcelona
Categories: Art Museums, Museums
Experience a wide variety of art at MACBA Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona, where you’ll find a collection of Spanish, Catalonian, and European pieces divided into three time periods. The displays feature modern and contemporary artwork, but many visitors say the building’s architecture itself is worth the trip. Lectures, seminars, and films are provided for the public. There are temporary exhibits as well. English tours run daily and are included in the ticket price. There’s even a mobile application you can use to learn more about the pieces during your visit. This museum has over 5000 works and of course only a limited number is exhibited at a given time. This special exhibition (until summer 2017) primarily has videos etc. Don't expect many paintings. The... read more »
... but the exhibition is ot worth paying.. if you call this art I am maybe to stupid to understand it. The building is exceptional and very very nice but the exhibition made me going furious...
Lors de notre venue : une exposition sur l'art punk. Surtout des installations sans grand intérêt artistique, des impasses artistiques à tous les étages de l'exposition. When we came here: an exhibition on the punk art. Especially the facilities without great artistic interest, artistic deadlocks on all floors of the exhibition.show original

Great architecture of the museum itself. Diverse and interesting exhibitions. The place on the front side is also a well known Skateboarding-spot.
Hands down the worst museum I've ever paid to get into and worst in Europe. This place is full of simple and unimpressive works that only an elitist with no taste in actual art. It's too bad there wasn't a budget for decent works after building such a beautiful exterior!
Some of the most beautiful photo realistic art ive ever seen. A must see!
The museum is located in a dirty area of Barcelona, a bunch of graffiti covering parts of the museum, skateboarders outside like it's a skate park. The museum inside is nice, they sort of went for the Tate museum design, but it's a bit confusing once you get inside, you have no idea where the paintings are, all I saw was just a bunch of pretentious crap they want to pass off as art. I have no idea how some people have given this museum 5 stars, I did not see one important piece, probably like 3 paintings among a bunch of sculptures, photographs and just other crap. Either the people that gave this place 5 stars are blind or have no idea what they're talking about. I probably stayed around 30 minutes, and that's basically looking for any famous artwork, but nothing. I went to this museum only because the Picasso museum is closed on Mondays and I leave tomorrow, I should have just stayed in my hotel or gone somewhere else.
