Spend time relaxing on the sandy expanse of La Barceloneta. This bustling beach is a favorite among tourists and locals alike, famed for its fiesta atmosphere. Build a sandcastle, dip your toes in the Mediterranean Sea, or sunbathe. If you’re feeling active, join in a game of beach volleyball or table tennis. Look for the modern art on display: the “Homenatge a la Barceloneta” monument and “Peix d’Or” sculptures. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, sample the catch of the day at one of many seafood restaurants located on the boardwalk. • An afternoon walk is recommended before sunset when visitors are treated with soothing and relaxing atmosphere while admiring the works of Frank Gehry and other renowned artists and sculptors.  more »
  • A beautiful place, where people feel very comfortable, and share children, youth and adults, under a Sun abrazazador.

  • I have been to this beach a few times in the last 6 years. Usually not with enough time to spend more than an hour or so. It seems to be fairly clean, and there are times when you may see a nude perso...  more »

  • Very nice serving staff, Great food. The meat paella was excellent. The fideuà (tried it for the first time) was excellent. The minimum 2 person, 1 kg steak was very tasty too (its served in a cast iron plate/pan do you can further cook if you want it more than rare /medium rare. The sangria tasted more like just a small glass of red wine. Sangria taste varies so much in Barcelona from restaurant to restaurant. Great view from the restaurant too! They have great tomato brushed bread as an appetizer. I loved that it was thin and crispy. One of the best I had tried in Barcelona.
  • an amazing experience. the seafood was so fresh. a little bug flew into my husband's wine glass and we didnt even notice it but the manager spotted it and replaced it for us! so attentive! service was amazing and ambience was great.
  • Myself and partner have been to some very nice restaurants in the past and were thoroughly looking forward to what this place had to offer, as it was our last night we wanted something special with a nice view of the marina.... unfortunately the service we received was apauling! The worst we have ever had! We were completely ignored by our waiter and then the manager! Whether it was because we were British, I don't know! We left very disgruntled and with no apology. Luckily we found La Gavina also near the marina, they really turned our last night around! Staff were the complete opposite. Very attentive and the paella was brilliant!!! Trust us and go here instead :)
  • Very nice restaurant definitely need reservation. I would highly recommend it for what they call Rap fish. It was ecellent! Nice location too!
  • Impeccable service. Incredible setting (choose terrace/outside with view if you can.) The food is good but overpriced. We order 2 types of paella (see pic) but the fideua was our favorite. Also, the pan con tomate and marinated olives is worth alone 3 stars (pics)

Where to stay in Barcelona

Because the city's metro system makes traveling from area to area relatively painless, you have more flexibility in choosing a place to stay. Barceloneta, the neighborhood surrounding the city beach is somewhat removed from the city center, making its hotels popular with families. Only a 15-minute walk from the center, Barceloneta has a more laid-back beach atmosphere but still offers several restaurants and entertainment options. Farther away from the beach and closer to the city center, El Born is a charming neighborhood well-known for its restaurants and lively bar scene. Eixample is also popular as it is more central and home to some of the city's best shopping and tourist sites, including La Sagrada Familia. For a more traditional experience, consider staying in the Gothic Quarter, the heart of Old Barcelona. This picturesque neighborhood boasts a tight network of historical architecture with boutique hotels and traditional restaurants.
