La Barceloneta, Barcelona

(4.2/5 based on 1,300+ reviews on the web)
To hit up the beaches that help make the city so beloved, head to La Barceloneta. Dip into the Mediterranean at this stretch of sand, which earned mention the second book of Don Quixote. Traditionally the fisherman’s quarter, the neighborhood still serves up fresh seafood in its abundant restaurants. Stroll along the boardwalk, watch the surfers, or stop for a glass of wine at one of the many beachside bars. Make sure you also check out two landmarks: Rebecca Horn's "Homenatge a la Barceloneta" monument and Frank Gehry's "Peix d'Or" sculpture. • It appears to be a borghetto on the Italian riviera, and you are right in the Centre of Barcelona. Between the beach and the harbour is beautiful getting lost in the maze of narrow streets of Barceloneta, ready to Leer at the tavern for a tapa or good fish. Experience to do.

  • great place to stroll around on a morning, stop at one of the cafe's for morning coffee, stroll up towards the beaches and do what the locals do.
  • Moving the statue of Christophe Colomb at the bottom of the Ramblas, there is this walk that takes you to the port. It's pretty cool albeit noisy
