  • Not exactly the prettiest park I have seen in Barcelona, but this one is kind of neat, good place to place some basketball, or see the Torre de les Aigues. I kind of stumbled thru the park to get a vi...  more »
  • The Jardines de la Torre de Les Aigues is a small park next to the water tower of Les Aigües. The tower is of 1862, work of the architect Josep Oriol Mestres, and fueled the neighbourhood water using a steam pump and then for el; evar water. The Park allows children to play in this land recovered by the city of Barcelona. The Tower yields beautiful photographs.

  • If you are travelling with kids during hot weather this is a must. A secret oasis amongst apartment blocks with 2 shallow pools, lifeguards, sandpit, showers and toilet's - all for 1.75 Euro each. Ok ...  more »

  • This is a nice little oasis in the middle of the city. The water is not deep, maybe 15 inches, 45 cm. It does not appear to be heated, but on a hot day who cares. Cheap entry fee. Probably best for the 7 and under crowd, but my nine year old had fun.
  • The garden block is neither maintained or well preserved ... A visit here is just worth a few minutes to see the old tower
  • Quiet little square that is hidden in the Eixample, nice place to relax if there aren't a million kids running around
  • This was a 3-star review. Then I noticed some of the local art. The vision it takes to use that font, mind-blowing. #wearenotalone
  • A quiet and green island in the city

Where to stay in Barcelona

Because the city's metro system makes traveling from area to area relatively painless, you have more flexibility in choosing a place to stay. Barceloneta, the neighborhood surrounding the city beach is somewhat removed from the city center, making its hotels popular with families. Only a 15-minute walk from the center, Barceloneta has a more laid-back beach atmosphere but still offers several restaurants and entertainment options. Farther away from the beach and closer to the city center, El Born is a charming neighborhood well-known for its restaurants and lively bar scene. Eixample is also popular as it is more central and home to some of the city's best shopping and tourist sites, including La Sagrada Familia. For a more traditional experience, consider staying in the Gothic Quarter, the heart of Old Barcelona. This picturesque neighborhood boasts a tight network of historical architecture with boutique hotels and traditional restaurants.
