Jardí Botànic de Barcelona, Barcelona
(3.6/5 based on 190+ reviews on the web)
Brimming with plant life and set atop Barcelona’s Montjuic Hill, Jardí Botànic de Barcelona affords visitors a chance to explore both the outdoors and a variety of warm-weather flora. The gardens, founded in 1999, house a collection of plants from Mediterranean climates around the world. Explore the gardens by either following a demarcated route or setting off on your own. Admire the vast array of species, arranged by region, as you make your way up and down the hill. Be sure to bring your camera as the view from the garden’s highest point offers views over the city and the surrounding stadiums from the 1992 Olympic Games. Learn even more about the resident plants and the facility itself through a guided tour or rentable audio guide. Comfortable footwear is recommended as the park is large and the incline of some trails is moderately steep. • Beatiful garden with flowers and trees from other continents. (Part with bonsai is opened ony ať weekend and holiday )
  • I was not that impressed with the botanic gardens. It seems more fitting for locals to go here to learn about the flora of other parts of the world. It also costs money to enter.
  • A Hidden Gem A bit off the beaten track but a lovely spot for a leisurely stroll with panoramic views of the city and surrounds. The gardens in springtime - the smells and flowers and bees and butterflies - are really starting to come into their own now, but even in winter there is plenty to see. Interesting "Cabinet of Curiosities" exhibition also worth a look. Free on the first Sunday of the month. Bus #13 will drop you right at the front entrance (behind the Olympic Stadium.)
  • Plenty of trees and plants beautifully arranged to enjoy in a quiet walk at Montjuich mountain. I love this garden quietness, and easy to walk paths. It lacks the romanticism of the old classic jardi botanic but you can visit both the same day! A very nice addition to the gardens in Montjuich
  • Beautiful lace, if you are near the Olympic stadium it's well worth a visit
