I stayed with my girlfriend in a hotel in this area is I must say that we were fine. The area is fairly touristy so major reference points are located as bars cafes for dinner/lunch. From this area you have access to the bogatell Beach really nice and not crowded. The street leading to the beach is nice, a little less the viette traverse especially farther from the beach but all in all a neighborhood not bad and good alike. Also the promenade is cute.

This area of Barcelona represented a real discovery. Highly eclectic, is a good mix of modern with the traditional. A very interesting promenade full of bars and restaurants and the beach very close. Good shopping areas! Easily accessible by public transport.

  • Very nice and quiet hostel. Everything is clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful always to our well-being. The beach is not far away and there is free beach towels and umbrellas in the hostel for the borrow. We would come back at any time.

Where to stay in Barcelona

Because the city's metro system makes traveling from area to area relatively painless, you have more flexibility in choosing a place to stay. Barceloneta, the neighborhood surrounding the city beach is somewhat removed from the city center, making its hotels popular with families. Only a 15-minute walk from the center, Barceloneta has a more laid-back beach atmosphere but still offers several restaurants and entertainment options. Farther away from the beach and closer to the city center, El Born is a charming neighborhood well-known for its restaurants and lively bar scene. Eixample is also popular as it is more central and home to some of the city's best shopping and tourist sites, including La Sagrada Familia. For a more traditional experience, consider staying in the Gothic Quarter, the heart of Old Barcelona. This picturesque neighborhood boasts a tight network of historical architecture with boutique hotels and traditional restaurants.
