  • A genial double history solution. The hall it self was build in 1876 as a market place with the French halls as inspiration. The architecture using Cast Iron and glass was introduced by the build of C...  more »
  • If you're taking a walk in the born district, obligatory stop to see the ruins beneath what was once the market.

  • Come to Barcelona and not to visit it is nonsense. In a pedagogical way you inserted into the history of a people, with a some other subjective passage, but all within the respect and prudence in the exhibition.

  • Great museum, about the impressive war history that hid these ruins of Cataluña of the late 1600's. Happy that the remodeling projects of El Born rediscovered them and turned this amazing covered marketplace in a very useful, well designed, memory/history filled FREE museum. It'll make you see Barcelona with a different eye.
  • Very interesring place. Nice and quiet after crowded streets of Barcelona. Restaurant also nice but maybe a little too expensive. But delicious thou.
  • Interesting view of old ruins, display of artifacts and regular facts. The men's bathroom only had urinals...
  • Interesting for those who are willing to dig into Catalan history: This is a former market building, and the old ruins beneath it have been uncovered. You can view them from the walkways over the ruins, and information about the ruins amongst others is displayed in Spanish, Catalan and English. There is also a restaurant (which more appears as a sports bar: you can view Barcelona here when they play!). All in all nice to spend some time.
  • Free entry!! Great museum to learn a little about Spain, Catalan and Barcelona history. Can spend 1-3 hours here if your reading everything. There is a cage inside.
