Ideal for an entertaining day learning things, family. I advise to book activities in advance, since they tend to fill up, and thus choose the time that suits you. Kids love to go. We ate in the restaurant office that inside, and all very good and clean.

It's really very interesting for the whole family. (Free for children) ridiculous admission of the hit we took a session at the planetarium for 4 euros more and even if it is advised for + 12 the little 6 year old feasted (3D and translation) the top is the mangrove you can stay hours ahead so it's beautiful. Many easily accessible interactive workshops. Not really a great success.

  • Very impressive science museum with many interactive experiences to have fun and discover at any age. Besides, expositions are being renewed often thanks to temporary events. Main languages on signs are Spanish, Catalan, English. French is being implemented for last pieces / temporary expositions. I am not a scientist, still I have been amazed to discover all the collection, their planetarium and as well their "Amazonian forest" which is really worth having a look :) The museum has made it to let anyone enjoy science its own way. I totally recommend to anyone, from science lovers to curious people.
  • The kids enjoyed it & so did we! It's a beautiful large building for the kids and parents to explore. Loved it. We went on a Sunday and didn't wait long for queue. Paid €8 for 2 children & 2 adult
  • Fantastic place. If you have an account with CaixaBank the entrance is free and you only pay 50% of the extra activities. You need several days to look at all the thing they have to show. Natural history, scientific experiments, fossils, ancient tools, a triceratops, an amazing jungle replica with beautiful plants and animals. They even make it rain inside it. A place you must visit while in Barcelona!
  • Pro: Very cheap. 4€ or free for Caixa bank clients. Cool interactive physics experiments. Lowest floor only one worth seeing (rainforest, animals, experiments). Good family place. Con: Not much to see considering how big the place is. Horrible signage. If you're looking for something specific, good luck finding it. They don't tell you that you need to get different tickets for most presentations, so you have to go back to the ground floor to get them.
  • Average stay is 3.5 hours because the line takes 2. Waited 45 minutes in one line only to be told to wait in another one. No climate control either, so full 2 hour wait was sweltering. A science museum should be able to work out crowd control or at least online ticket sales.

Where to stay in Barcelona

Because the city's metro system makes traveling from area to area relatively painless, you have more flexibility in choosing a place to stay. Barceloneta, the neighborhood surrounding the city beach is somewhat removed from the city center, making its hotels popular with families. Only a 15-minute walk from the center, Barceloneta has a more laid-back beach atmosphere but still offers several restaurants and entertainment options. Farther away from the beach and closer to the city center, El Born is a charming neighborhood well-known for its restaurants and lively bar scene. Eixample is also popular as it is more central and home to some of the city's best shopping and tourist sites, including La Sagrada Familia. For a more traditional experience, consider staying in the Gothic Quarter, the heart of Old Barcelona. This picturesque neighborhood boasts a tight network of historical architecture with boutique hotels and traditional restaurants.
