Where to stay in Barcelona

Because the city's metro system makes traveling from area to area relatively painless, you have more flexibility in choosing a place to stay. Barceloneta, the neighborhood surrounding the city beach is somewhat removed from the city center, making its hotels popular with families. Only a 15-minute walk from the center, Barceloneta has a more laid-back beach atmosphere but still offers several restaurants and entertainment options. Farther away from the beach and closer to the city center, El Born is a charming neighborhood well-known for its restaurants and lively bar scene. Eixample is also popular as it is more central and home to some of the city's best shopping and tourist sites, including La Sagrada Familia. For a more traditional experience, consider staying in the Gothic Quarter, the heart of Old Barcelona. This picturesque neighborhood boasts a tight network of historical architecture with boutique hotels and traditional restaurants.

  • Historic theater with great shows and a good atmosphere. Very good experience. Hope to return soon. Nice bar next door.  more »
  • Starts with a film that lasts about 30 and then you go and see the warriors. That bit isn't very big. Was expecting more really. A very forgettable experiance.  more »

  • The entrance is quite magnificent and the inside preserves its old and classic authenticity. Not very comfy since it's old, but it's a nice experience.
  • Until June there is an exposition about the famous terracotta army of the first emperor of China. Which is in combination with this classical theatre a very good combination, so if you have some time to kill, try it out!
  • Would not waste time with this one...
  • Bigger and nicer theater in BCN
  • Complete rip off.....Went to the terracota army exhibit. 13euros to see 8 copies of statues. It was not clear anywhere that this was not the official exhibit that went around the world as they used the same logo and branding. What you would see is a 30 minutes youtubevideo in both english and spanish at the same time....( shameful sound quality..) and 8 copies of status.....
