House of Leo and Mulberry-so you can translate the name of this masterpiece of the Catalan architecture. This House was not named in honour of his hosts, and in accordance with the motives present on its façade in the form of images of lions and mulberry trees. Even the magnificent façade is decorated with columns, sculptures, bas-reliefs and stuccoes, mosaics, many of which created the whole picture. The interiors amaze with splendor, wealth and elegance. In Casa Leo and all the beauty-filled Morera extraordinary stairs, decorative ceilings, stained glass, which themselves are a true masterpiece art

How wonderful! I feel that it is necessary to say that Barcelona does not begin and end with Gaudí! I think that not subtracts nothing to Gaudi, but I think that these monsters of catalan modernism, much add and not subtract anything. Whenever I know more, I like Domenech i Montaner. That work so extraordinary yours! I have not done well to focus exclusively on Gaudí. I am very pleased of having focused on other authors of catalan modernism, because it is to improve my vision about the same. I'll be back to enjoy them.

One of the most important modernist building in the city. Unfortunately in 2017 is not open to the public. Last year you could visit the first floor.

  • Just Beautiful! A must see if you're in this beautiful city! 😊
  • Beautiful decoration inside n outside. Worth to see
  • The Casa Lleó Morera is a building designed by noted modernisme architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner, located at Passeig de Gràcia 35 in the Eixample district of Barcelona. In 1902 Francesca Morera assigned Lluís Domènech i Montaner to remodel ancient "casa Rocamora", built in 1864. She died in 1904, and the building was named after her son, Albert Lleó i Morera. The building is located on the corner of Carrer del Consell de Cent, and is one of the three important buildings of Barcelona's Illa de la Discòrdia ("Block of Discord"), and it is the only one building of the block awarded Barcelona's town council's Arts Building Annual Award (Concurso anual de edificios artísticos), obtained in 1906.[Unfortunately, the building lost some of its most representative elements, such as the tempietto on its top (now restored) and the ground floor and mezzanine's architectural sculpture. The building is also known as the residence of Cuban-Catalan photographer Pau Audouard.
  • Very nice house! Its a lot different than Gaudi's work, but totally worth a visit to get more perspective of the great architecture of Barcelona.
  • An alternative take on modernism. Pretty and more ordely that Gaudi but lacks his boldness. One empty floor of an interesting building. Like many other places could have been so much better.

Where to stay in Barcelona

Because the city's metro system makes traveling from area to area relatively painless, you have more flexibility in choosing a place to stay. Barceloneta, the neighborhood surrounding the city beach is somewhat removed from the city center, making its hotels popular with families. Only a 15-minute walk from the center, Barceloneta has a more laid-back beach atmosphere but still offers several restaurants and entertainment options. Farther away from the beach and closer to the city center, El Born is a charming neighborhood well-known for its restaurants and lively bar scene. Eixample is also popular as it is more central and home to some of the city's best shopping and tourist sites, including La Sagrada Familia. For a more traditional experience, consider staying in the Gothic Quarter, the heart of Old Barcelona. This picturesque neighborhood boasts a tight network of historical architecture with boutique hotels and traditional restaurants.
