Built atop Montjuic, Carrer del Mirador del Palau Nacional represents an impressive example of Catalan architecture that also affords unbeatable views of the city. Built for the 1929 International Exhibition, the second world fair held in Barcelona, the palace how houses the National Art Museum of Catalonia. The neo-Baroque structure was designed by Spanish architects Enric Catala and Pedro Cendoya. Stroll through the expansive grounds surrounding the palace, complete with colorful fountains.
