This Grand Palace of Montjuïc was built specially for the international exhibition of 1929 year. The relatively young National Palace looks like medieval and should in no way breaks out of the old portrayal of Barcelona. In front of the Palace is the cascade staircases and waterfalls. At the foot of the Palace is adorned with the famous magic fountain. From the Palace and grounds, that in front of the Palace, one of the best panoramic views of the city. Inside the art museum with paintings, sculptures, icons and frescoes. There are also a Museum of archaeology and ethnography Museum. The Palace fall happened in the day of our visit, he locked himself in the 3:00 days. Yes in the heat better visit the Palace, and in the evening at sunset, walk here and admire the beauty of the show and the magic fountain. By the way can help you rise to the Palace-escalators, harmoniously entered in stair cascade

Get to the top until Palau climbing the steps which start from Placa Espanya and then admire the panorama of the city, is priceless. If you admire, or even more you can also visit the Museum (only for fans: is immense and not always interesting, but worth it) you can say happy.

Where to stay in Barcelona

Because the city's metro system makes traveling from area to area relatively painless, you have more flexibility in choosing a place to stay. Barceloneta, the neighborhood surrounding the city beach is somewhat removed from the city center, making its hotels popular with families. Only a 15-minute walk from the center, Barceloneta has a more laid-back beach atmosphere but still offers several restaurants and entertainment options. Farther away from the beach and closer to the city center, El Born is a charming neighborhood well-known for its restaurants and lively bar scene. Eixample is also popular as it is more central and home to some of the city's best shopping and tourist sites, including La Sagrada Familia. For a more traditional experience, consider staying in the Gothic Quarter, the heart of Old Barcelona. This picturesque neighborhood boasts a tight network of historical architecture with boutique hotels and traditional restaurants.
