Trip Planner: Europe / Spain / Catalonia / Province of Barcelona / Barcelona / Basilica of the Sagrada Familia
The undisputed symbol of the city, Basilica of the Sagrada Familia is a World Heritage Site that astonishes visitors with its sheer height and intricacy of design. This impressive church was designed by one of Spain’s renowned architects, Antoni Gaudí. Though Gaudí produced some of the country’s most inspiring buildings, this church is his most famous work. This masterpiece in the very heart of the city, featuring Gothic and Art Nouveau elements, is 95 m (312 ft) long and 60 m (197 ft) wide, with a seating capacity of 13,000. The central tower rises 170 m (558 ft) above the transept, with 17 other towers of 100 m (328 ft) or more. Visitors have access to the nave, crypt, museum, shop, and two towers. To avoid long lines, book tickets online. Put Basilica of the Sagrada Familia on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Barcelona attractions app.

Basilica of the Sagrada Familia reviews
This Basilica is still under construction and will most likely not be finished in the next 20 years but it is a must see. The detail in the architecture and the museum and history of it is... more »

Such and amazing and interesting building. The contracts between the new and the old keeps your brains imagination flowing. Something truly special about this place. Unfortunately today it was closed(26 Dec) But loved the walk around the gardens. Don't worry they haven't finished building..... Yet! 🤣
Lovely view. I recommend anyone to visit this place when you're in Barcelona. The artistic talent show that was put into building this edifice is marvelous even though some parts are still under construction. But, it's worth visiting and taking memorable pictures of the building. Remember, for first timers like me who don't know much, you will need to get your ticket online or at the far end of the gate for you to gain entrance. There's are loads of security officers outside the building and I am meant to understand that, that's the major tourist attraction in Barcelona. If you are in Barcelona for a visit, tour or something and you haven't been to this place? I wonder what you're doing there.😁😁😁
Beautiful Museum and church in the middle of the city. It provides very good overview for the history of the city architecture and the people working here are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended to visit. It is one of the must visit places in the city. This place has some very interesting items to see in the basement museum and the user experience is absolutely amazing. The narrative provided for the visitors are very informative and interesting. This museum is very comfortable and disabled friendly. I could only say good things about this church and highly recommend others to visit (specially good for architecture students). Cheers and wish this recommendation would be useful for others.
Undoubtedly, Sagrada stands out as the one of the must visit place of not just Barcelona but overall. This has been under construction for so long (and still is) and the architecture looks a real stunner. Such minute artistry, ambiance and maintenance is next to none. Queues are big, so it is advisable to book your tickets in advance. Spend quite a good amount of time here soaking in the architectural beauty. The use of color, space and stone is breath taking.
I've seen the Sagrada Família before but I had never been inside before. We stumped up the 33€ fee (visitors under 30 are eligible for 2€ off tickets or half-off tickets for Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays for the last two hours before closing of the Basilica. Look here under Discounts for up to date information) for a tower view and headed inside. Tip: book in advance! We got there at ~11am but had to wait until ~1pm for our time slot to enter. My thoughts were that the outside was way nicer than the inside. It was cool to see the light reflecting off the windows but, really, it is not something I would do again. The audiobook was OK but seemed to drag it out a lot. There was a long queue for the tower view. If you bring a rucksack they make you put it in a locker for 1€ so make sure you have the coin or, better yet, with the airport-like security, leave it at the hotel. Also don't go if you do not like heights! You take an elevator up to the top and then have to walk down a long spiral staircase with intermittent railings all the way back down. The tower was a good view but I do feel that similar views can be found elsewhere.
